New Programme 2025
Monday 4th August, 2025
Our success criterion isn’t how many complete the programme, but how many secure employment in the Danish tech industry afterwards. As of today, 85% of those who have gone through our programme have landed relevant jobs or internships in the Danish tech industry.

We are proud of these results, but we are not stopping there. We continuously adapt our curriculum to align with evolving market trends, ensuring that trainees gain the most relevant and in-demand skills. By continuously analyzing industry needs and employer feedback, we adapt our programme content to reflect the most in-demand technologies and practices. This dynamic approach strengthens the employability of our graduates, equipping them with the tools and knowledge necessary to succeed in today’s job market.
"We are currently undergoing the largest adaption in our curriculum's history to make sure that the vulnerable groups we support continue to land well-paid and stable employment."
- Helena, Director of HackYourFuture Denmark
Over the past decade, the Web Development industry has experienced substantial growth. However, recent trends in Denmark indicate a marked decline in the availability of web developer positions, accompanied by rapidly evolving competency demands. An estimate from the World Economic Forum (2025) suggests that a majority of competency profiles in the tech industry will be subject to redefinitions in coming years, due to the increasing presence and integration of Artificial Intelligence (A.I) and Machine Learning (ML). Furthermore, the demand of generalist profiles is decreasing and oppositely, the demand for more specialised profiles only continues to increase.

As a result, employment opportunities for our graduates has been diminishing, and the transition period from graduation to employment has lengthened. This delay directly impacts the economic stability of refugees and their families — a core concern for our organization.

Our mission is to support refugees in accessing stable, dignified, and fairly compensated employment.
In light of these shifting market dynamics, we have made the strategic decision to redesign our programme structure to align more closely with current industry needs. This entails more specialised competency profiles compared to our previous programme.

To ensure that this transformation is grounded in real-world insight, we initiated a series of consultations with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including corporate partners, volunteer professionals, think tanks, tech and IT unions, and Danish employment specialists. These dialogues have provided us with a comprehensive understanding of the evolving tech landscape in Denmark and have informed the direction of our curriculum development.

The proposed HackYourFuture curriculum is designed to reflect the evolving demands of the tech industry, with a structured progression that begins with a foundational course covering essential understanding of web technologies, technical concepts, basic programming and digital literacy. From there, students will specialize in either frontend or backend development, with both tracks integrating AI literacy and tools to ensure graduates are equipped for modern, data-driven work environments.
Importantly, team work, career development, interview preparation and communication skills training will no longer be confined to the final weeks, but will be embedded throughout the programme to build confidence, professionalism, and readiness from day one.

Furthermore, this structure allows us to more easily adapt our curriculum in the future. While the first run of the new programme will focus on frontend, backend, data and A.I., we fully expect our specialism offerings to continue to iterate towards new and upcoming demands in the Danish job market.
